Fair price check

Our price is the manufacturer's home-market RRP — what this gear sells for where it's made. Branded marine equipment in Thailand typically retails 15–90% above that, when prices are published at all. Ours doesn't.

About this product

The SeaXchange SX III is the semi-automatic version of Spot Zero's seawater watermaker: the same capacities and the same high-rejection membranes as the XTC II, controlled from a backlit LCD keypad rather than a touchscreen. It is fully upgradeable from 600 to 2,200 GPD, so a boat can start small and add capacity later.

Each model is drawn in three arrangements: filters on the unit with membranes remote, membranes locally mounted through the unit, or filters and membranes both remote. Remote membranes need the remote-mount hose kit (P/N 4471006880); the wall-mount bracket (P/N 4471004179) can only be used when the membranes are remote mounted.

Spot Zero notes that production capacity can be affected at 50 Hz: the pump motor turns slightly slower on a 50 Hz supply, so a system installed for Thailand is sized with that in mind. Tell us the daily water need and we will specify the capacity that delivers it on 50 Hz.

Installation, plumbing and wiring

Following Spot Zero's SeaXchange flow drawing: seawater intake through a clamshell inlet (recommended), seacock and sea strainer to the boost pump, which must be installed below the waterline and fed with 3/4 in ID wire-reinforced hose; the boost pump feeds the pre-filter and then the control unit through 3/4 in ID tubing. Membrane supply and return are 1/2 in OD, membrane product 3/8 in OD, the overboard concentrate 1/2 in OD run free and unrestricted, and product to tank 3/8 in OD. The fresh-water flush cartridge is fed from the ship's pressurised fresh-water supply through a check valve in 3/8 in OD or larger tubing. Power is a single-phase inlet (L1, L2, ground) to the control unit, which feeds the booster pump and the high-pressure pump; the LCD keypad and the optional remote keypad run on 24 V DC; an NMEA 2000 bus connection and a tank-level switch input are provided.

Service parts for this system

All of these are listed in our Spot Zero parts section at Spot Zero's US list price, special order from the factory with the lead time confirmed before you pay; tell us the model and serial number and we will confirm the exact membrane size and count for your configuration.

What it costs

Spot Zero's US list price starts at US$15,400 for the SX III. We quote per boat; freight to Thailand at cost, invoiced separately.

Warranty

Spot Zero's standard limited warranty on built-in systems is 12 months or 1,000 hours, parts and labour (membranes, filters, seals and other consumables excluded). Spot Zero's extended warranties — Gold (+1 year/1,000 h, parts), Platinum (+2 years/2,000 h, parts) and Diamond (+2 years/2,000 h, parts and labour) — can be added at any time during the standard term; ask us for the current prices. Warranty cover applies in whichever country the fault occurs.

How we supply Spot Zero in Thailand

Drake Marine supplies Spot Zero as a factory-direct purchase with our support around it: we size the system to the hull and its tankage, specify the 50 Hz configuration for boats staying in the region, handle the technical questions with Fort Lauderdale, support commissioning on the dock or in the shed, register the warranty, and keep the filters, membranes and service parts on order from Thailand rather than on a ship from Florida each time. Freight is at cost and invoiced separately, so the price you see is the equipment.

Tell us the boat, the tankage and where she will be kept and we will size the system, confirm the 50 Hz configuration for Thailand and quote the equipment with the factory lead time: LINE @drakeco, WhatsApp +66 99 406 4680 or email.
