Which film do I need?
7 mil (180 micron) is the industry standard for boats of roughly 3 to 12 m; for a cover standing through a full monsoon season our guide steps up to 8.5 mil. For long storage in tropical sun our guide recommends white, which reflects heat; choose blue where colour or light under the cover matters more.
What it fits. Width is the dimension that goes over the boat. Run a soft tape from the perimeter band on one side, over the highest and widest point, to the band on the other side, and add 600–900 mm for the hem: this 32 ft (9.8 m) roll covers an over-the-top measurement up to about 8.8 m. The standard sizing chart pairs 32 ft film with beams up to about 3.4 m (11 ft); sailing boats, flybridges and arches push you up a size or two. Between two widths, take the wider roll. Roll length should cover length overall plus about 20%, so 65 ft (19.8 m) is enough for about 16 m of boat in total.
