Drake Marine supplies genuine Side-Power (Sleipner) bow and stern thrusters, control panels, anodes and spare parts from our base in Trang, with delivery throughout Thailand and Southeast Asia. Norwegian-built since 1908, Sleipner — long known by its thruster brand name Side-Power — is the benchmark in recreational marine thruster systems, and we keep the parts that keep them running.
Side-Power and Sleipner — same company, same parts
In 2021 Sleipner Motor AS of Fredrikstad, Norway retired the Side-Power brand name and now sells the identical product lines under Sleipner. If your boat has a Side-Power thruster, every current Sleipner part, propeller, anode and control panel remains compatible with the same model codes — an SE60 is an SE60, whichever badge is on the box. We supply both eras and can cross-reference older part numbers.
Thruster ranges we supply in Thailand
SE series — classic on/off tunnel thrusters
The volume range for boats from about 19 to 78 ft. The popular sizes for Thai boats are the SE30 (19–26 ft), SE40 (26–34 ft), SE50 (26–36 ft), SE60 (29–39 ft), SE80 (32–49 ft), SE100 (39–55 ft) and SE130 (42–62 ft). Ignition-protected (IP) versions are available for petrol-engined boats — important for the outboard and sterndrive boats common in Thailand.
SEP PRO™ series — proportional control
Variable-speed thrust through Sleipner’s S-Link™ digital network: dose the thrust exactly, hold station against wind or current, run quieter and longer. Current sizes SEP25 through SEP100, paired with PJC-series colour panels.
E-series eVision™ — brushless, continuous-rated
Sleipner’s flagship DC line: brushless proportional thrusters from E100 to E420 with continuous run time, 24 V or 48 V, roughly half the weight of the equivalent brushed unit. An official motor upgrade kit converts existing PRO thrusters to E-series. Retractable eVision models (ERV/ERL) and external SX pod thrusters are available to order, as are SH hydraulic systems for larger vessels.
Genuine spares we keep moving
- Anodes — zinc and aluminium for every leg size: 3 1180 series (SE20–SE50), 7 1180 series (SE60–SE100), 20 1180 series (SE120–SE250), plus prop-nut and retract anodes. In Thai waters we recommend aluminium anodes for boats that mix marina and estuary time.
- Propellers — Q-Prop™ 5-blade upgrades and standard replacement props for all tunnel diameters (110–386 mm).
- Shear pins, drive pins and brush kits — the service parts every SE-series owner eventually needs; correct pin spec per model, no guesswork.
- Control panels — classic 8950 G / 8955 G touch panels and joystick panels (12/24 V auto-sensing), and S-Link PJC421/PJC422 colour panels for proportional systems.
- Remote controls and S-Link network cabling, connectors and gateways.

Which thruster fits your boat?
Our guide How to choose the best thruster for your boat walks through tunnel sizing, thrust-to-windage, 12 V vs 24 V and on/off vs proportional control. Or simply tell us your boat — length, displacement, where you berth — and we’ll specify the right unit and tunnel kit.

Frequently asked questions
Do you supply Side-Power thrusters in Thailand?
Yes — Drake Marine supplies genuine Side-Power (Sleipner) thrusters, panels, anodes and spares from Trang, Thailand, with delivery nationwide and across Southeast Asia.
Are Side-Power and Sleipner parts interchangeable?
Yes. Side-Power was rebranded to Sleipner in 2021; the model codes and parts are the same. Current Sleipner spares fit older Side-Power units of the same model.
What size thruster does a 40 ft boat need?
Most 40 ft boats fall in the SE80 (32–49 ft) or SE100 (39–55 ft) band, depending on windage and displacement. Ask us with your boat’s details and we’ll confirm the correct size and tunnel diameter.
Do you stock anodes and service parts?
Yes — anodes, propellers, shear and drive pins, brush kits and control panels for the SE, SEP PRO and E-series ranges.
