About this product
The anode on your thruster’s gear leg corrodes so the gearhouse and propeller don’t. Let it waste away completely and the next thing to corrode is the leg itself — an expensive lesson. Inspect at every haul-out and replace once around half consumed; never paint an anode.

Zinc or aluminium, and how many?
Zinc for clean salt water; aluminium where the boat sits in brackish estuary marinas or moves between fresh and salt, because zinc can go passive there. The boat anode selector gives you a pattern and quantity for your boat in about a minute, and the guide zinc vs aluminium anodes in Thai waters explains why. Replace anodes when about half is gone, and replace them as a set.
Questions
Can I mix zinc and aluminium on one boat?
Keep one alloy across the bonded system so every anode wastes at the same rate; mixing is for separate, unbonded fittings only. Ask us if you are unsure.
