Drake Marine designs, supplies and installs marine audio and AV systems in Thailand — from a pair of cockpit speakers to full multi-zone yacht entertainment with JL Audio marine speakers and subwoofers, multiroom streaming and proper AC amplification.
The mistake most installs make
Marine-grade exterior subwoofers — including the premium ranges like JL Audio — are passive drivers: they have no built-in amplifier and must be driven by a real amplifier channel. Domestic subwoofers are usually active (self-powered), which is why so many otherwise good yacht installs end up with a silent cockpit sub. On larger boats the answer isn’t a big DC amplifier eating your house bank — it’s a compact 230 V AC multi-channel amplifier with the amplified channels passive subs demand.
What we supply and fit
- JL Audio marine — cockpit and deck speakers, tower systems and passive marine subwoofers built to survive sun, salt and spray.
- Amplification — slim 230 V AC multi-channel amplifiers sized to your zones, driving interior and exterior speakers and passive subs from one unit.
- Streaming and multiroom — saloon and cabin multiroom audio integrated with the helm and cockpit zones.
- Design and installation — source units, zoning, wiring runs and power budgets planned as one job, installed in Thailand.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my marine subwoofer need an amplifier?
Exterior marine subwoofers are passive — they need a dedicated amplifier channel. Without one they simply don’t play.
AC or DC amplifier on a big boat?
On vessels with 230 V AC power, an AC amplifier avoids heavy DC current draw, thick cable runs and heat in hidden lockers.
Do you install as well as supply?
Yes — we design and install complete systems across Thailand.
