Is it the right size for my boat?
Sleipner gives this 24 V, 1,500 W windlass a typical vessel size of under 21.3 m (70 ft). The 12 V, 1,000 W version of the same windlass is rated for boats under 15.2 m (50 ft). Sleipner's advice is to weigh the boat's size and design, where the windlass will be mounted, and your anchoring conditions and ground tackle. What else you need
Sleipner specifies that the windlass is installed with a control box, a circuit breaker and a control panel, plus the hull fitting, anchor line and rode for your boat:
- Windlass control unit, 12/24 V (150800) — the control box Sleipner specifies for the Maxi
- Circuit breaker and main switch, 200 A (119-00004)
- Battery cable kit, 2 m oder die 4 m kit, to suit the run from battery to windlass
- Touch control panel (86-08950) oder die round touch panel (86-08955)
- Calibrated chain, 6.5 mm, 50 m — or keep your own 8 mm DIN 766 chain: the windlass takes either, and we confirm the fit from a photo of the chain and its markings
- Anchor, swivel and shackles, and an anchor roller if the boat has none

Questions
12 V or 24 V?
Match the boat's system voltage. Sleipner builds each Maxi windlass as a 12 V, 1,000 W unit for boats under 15.2 m (50 ft) and a 24 V, 1,500 W unit for boats under 21.3 m (70 ft).
Chain or leaded line?
This is Sleipner's chain windlass. The other Maxi models run a leaded anchor line, which gives automatic free fall and parking mode.
How long does it take?
It is a special order from Sleipner in Norway: usually 7–10 days, confirmed before you pay and typically air-freighted. The control unit, breaker, panel and line are separate items: add them to the same order and they travel in the same shipment.
Warranty and returns
Sleipner's published warranty is two years for leisure use and one year for commercial use from delivery to the end user, and we handle any claim for you in Thailand. Special-order items are covered for faults, damage and wrong items rather than change of mind; details on the returns page.
