SRL100 retract bow/stern thruster 12V — 100kg of thrust (116kg at 12 V), sized by Sleipner for motor boats and sail boats of 12–17 m (39–56 ft). A retractable thruster: it deploys below the hull when you need it and retracts into its housing when stowed, so there is no open tunnel and no drag under way. On/off control from a standard Sleipner panel.

What you get, and what to order with it

This is the thruster unit as supplied by Sleipner. Retract thrusters install in their own hull housing — the installation manual below gives the hull cut-out and mould dimensions. You also need an on/off control panel (8960 single or 8940 dual joystick), an ANL 500 fuse and holder, and battery cable sized to the run. The matching items are listed under “You may also need” below, and we will check the whole kit against your boat before it ships.

Power and battery

Draws 740A at 10.5 V nominal. Sleipner specify a battery of at least 1320 CCA (EN) and an ANL 500 fuse. Size the cable with our battery bank and cable size calculator, and use the thruster size calculator to confirm SRL100 is the right size for your boat.
