Zinc or aluminium, and how many?<\/h3>\n

Zinc for clean salt water; aluminium where the boat sits in brackish estuary marinas or moves between fresh and salt, because zinc can go passive there. Replace anodes when about half is gone, and replace them as a set.<\/p>\n

Keep one alloy across the bonded system so every anode wastes at the same rate; mixing is for separate, unbonded fittings only. Ask us if you are unsure.<\/p>\n
