Which film do I need?<\/h3>\n

7 mil (180 micron) is the industry standard for boats of roughly 3 to 12 m; for a cover standing through a full monsoon season our guide steps up to 8.5 mil. White is the colour our guide recommends for the tropics: it reflects heat and keeps the boat cooler under the cover.<\/p>\n

What it fits.<\/strong> Width is the dimension that goes over the boat. Run a soft tape from the perimeter band on one side, over the highest and widest point, to the band on the other side, and add 600\u2013900 mm for the hem: this 36 ft (11 m) roll covers an over-the-top measurement up to about 10 m. Flybridges, arches and sailing rigs push you up a size or two. Between two widths, take the wider roll. Roll length should cover length overall plus about 20%, so 165 ft (50.3 m) is enough for about 41 m of boat in total.<\/p>\n
